NEW YORK, June 22nd — Stablecon, the world's leading conference dedicated to stablecoin innovation, today announced the appointment of Sanjib Kalita as President.

In this role, Kalita will lead Stablecon's commercial strategy and global expansion, with a mandate to cement the event's position as the number one gathering for stablecoin builders, policymakers, and institutional leaders worldwide. Stablecon has brought together 7,500+ payments innovation leaders at its events, and will host its flagship conference this September 9-11 in Washington, D.C.

Kalita brings more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of financial services, technology, and events. He was a founding member of Money20/20, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer, helping grow the conference from a four-person startup into the world's largest fintech event series. Most recently, he led and scaled Fintech Meetup as its Chairman, where he helped build one of the fastest-growing fintech conferences in North America. His earlier career includes senior roles at Citi, where he led strategy for a $30 billion consumer credit card business, and at Google, where he worked on Google Wallet.

"Sanjib is one of the most respected and accomplished builders in the fintech events industry," said Nik Milanović, founder and CEO of Stablecon and This Week in Fintech. "He helped create the playbook for what a world-class fintech conference looks like — and now we're bringing that expertise to Stablecon as we enter our next phase of growth. Stablecoins are reshaping global finance, and Stablecon will be the definitive gathering where that future gets built."

"Stablecoins represent the most consequential evolution in financial infrastructure in a generation," said Kalita. "Stablecon has already established itself as the premier destination for serious participants in this ecosystem. I'm excited to join Nik and the team to scale the conference globally and build the industry community that this moment demands."

Stablecon held its inaugural event in May 2025 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, drawing more than 1,000 attendees including 750+ C-suite executives and speakers from Circle, Coinbase, Ripple, Visa, and PayPal. Following a successful EMEA launch in Amsterdam in May 2026, Stablecon 2026 is scheduled for September 9–11 in Washington, D.C.
